The same show building reopened as Journey Into Imagination With Figment, keeping Dr. Nigel Channing and the Imagination Institute framing and restoring Figment to every show scene, though the Dreamfinder remained absent.

October 8, 2001 is given by the Journey into Imagination, Imagination! pavilion and Journey into Imagination with Figment articles. The pavilion article ties the closure to complaints about the missing Dreamfinder and Figment's reduced role; the List of Epcot attractions article calls the reception 'highly negative'.

Journey Into YOUR Imagination opened in the rebuilt Imagination! pavilion, sending guests on a tour of the fictional Imagination Institute hosted by Dr. Nigel Channing, played by Eric Idle.

The rebuild wrote the Dreamfinder out of the attraction entirely and cut Figment down to cameos in the queue films, a constellation in the connection lab, and a closing appearance in which he was heard before Channing shooed him off.

Wikipedia's wording is that Figment's appearances were reduced to 'cameos in the queue movies, a constellation in the connection lab and at the end of the ride, where he is heard but is shooed off by Channing', and that 'the Dreamfinder, a popular character from the original ride, was not present in this version'.

The ride path was drastically shortened for budgetary reasons, bringing the attraction down to about five minutes from the original ride's eleven.

Wikipedia gives 11 minutes for the 1983 attraction and 5 minutes for this version, and describes the path as 'drastically shortened due to budgetary issues'.
