BlogMickey's farewell piece states 'TriceraTop Spin in DinoLand USA at Disney's Animal Kingdom had its final day of operation on January 12, 2025,' and TouringPlans states 'This attraction's final day of operation was January 12, 2025.' BlogMickey's January 14 demolition report covers the section closing to guests January 13 and teardown starting. Disney's own announcement and Wikipedia's DinoLand U.S.A. article say the first phase of the closure 'became effective on January 13, 2025', which is the first day it was shut rather than a day it operated - hence the January 12 closed_date.

Article published October 14, 2024. Disney's wording was that 'TriceraTop Spin will close permanently on January 13, 2025, to make way for the Tropical Americas coming to Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park in 2027,' and that the closures are part of the first phase of the Tropical Americas retheme. In practice the last day guests could ride was January 12.

Disney announced at the D23 fan event that DinoLand U.S.A. would be replaced by a new Tropical Americas land, including an Encanto attraction, scheduled to open in 2027.

Held at month precision on purpose. Both Wikipedia articles say only 'In August 2024, it was announced at the D23 fan event...'; Wikipedia's D23 page puts the 2024 event on August 9-11 with the Disney Experiences showcase on August 10, so a previously recorded 'August 11' date was unsupported. Wikipedia's DinoLand U.S.A. article confirms the new land will feature Encanto and Indiana Jones themed attractions 'with completion expected by 2027'. TriceraTop Spin was not individually named at the D23 reveal - this is the decision that doomed it.
