Disney announced that DinoLand U.S.A., including the ground Primeval Whirl had stood on, would be replaced by a new land called Tropical Americas with Encanto and Indiana Jones attractions, targeted for 2027.

Yesterland places the trackless Encanto ride into Casa Madrigal in the corner where Dino-Rama stood. Dino-Rama held two rides, so this is a land-level replacement rather than a direct successor to Primeval Whirl.

Disney confirmed that Primeval Whirl was permanently closed and would not return from its seasonal hiatus.

Confirmed alongside the permanent closures of Rivers of Light and Stitch's Great Escape, five days after Animal Kingdom's limited COVID-19 reopening. This is not a pandemic closure: the coaster had been seasonal since September 2019 and last operated January 4, 2020, more than two months before the March 2020 shutdown. Wikipedia's infobox closing date of March 12, 2020 is not supported by the Attractions Magazine article it cites, which gives no closing date at all.
