Dinosaur Jubilee closed during 2000, along with the Fossil Preparation Lab, to clear its site for DinoLand U.S.A.'s first major expansion.

Date held to year only because the sources disagree on the month: The Mickey Wiki says 'by the end of 2000', LaughingPlace says 'December 2000', wdwmousing says 2000, and Jim Korkis dates the final disappearance to early spring 2001. The exhibit was always intended as a temporary placeholder. Casts were dispersed to museums; the Archelon skeleton stayed on in the DINOSAUR gift shop.

Chester & Hester's Dino-Rama, a carnival-themed mini-land, was built on the plot where Dinosaur Jubilee had stood and opened in 2001.

Attractions Magazine reports Disney announced Dino-Rama in 2000 and opened it in 2001 on the Jubilee's former plot. The Mickey Wiki gives November 18, 2001 for Dino-Rama and TriceraTop Spin, but no second source confirms that exact day, so the beat is held to year precision. No successor id is recorded: the replacement was a mini-land rather than a single attraction.

Dinosaur Jubilee opened on Disney's Animal Kingdom's first day as a walk-through fossil exhibit housed in a large tent in DinoLand U.S.A.

The opening-day park map described it as 'Meander through dino artifacts. See casts of spectacular real dinosaur skeletons!' It opened alongside Countdown to Extinction, The Boneyard, the Cretaceous Trail and the Fossil Preparation Lab, standing around the corner from the Cretaceous Trail opposite Chester & Hester's shop.

The exhibit's dinosaur skeleton casts were supplied by the Black Hills Institute and Triebold Paleontology, and in-story Dino Institute student interns led guided tours of the displays four times a day for about the first year.
