Cretaceous Trail

Blog Mickey reported on February 2, 2026 that 'DinoLand USA has gone extinct,' with Disney covering the land's sign overnight and rolling in temporary planters to block access, leaving only the perimeter walkway to Finding Nemo and Expedition Everest open. Wikipedia dates the third and final closure phase to February 2, 2026 (DinoLand U.S.A., DINOSAUR, Restaurantosaurus); Theme Park Shark gives February 1, 2026 as the last day to experience the land. No outlet reported a last day for the Cretaceous Trail itself -- Theme Park Shark's closure round-up does not mention it, and while both Wikipedia's Animal Kingdom list ('Past attractions') and its Walt Disney World list ('Defunct Attractions') file the trail as gone, neither attaches a date. The date is therefore recorded to the month and worded as an outer bound: the trail had already stopped appearing in attraction listings years earlier and could have been walled off during an earlier phase, so we assert only that it was gone by the land's closure. Permanence is not in doubt -- the land is being demolished for Tropical Americas, due to open by 2027. Not a COVID-era closure: the trail hosted Donald's Dino-Bash characters from 2018 and the land operated for more than five years after March 2020.
