   Track was shortened by about 400 feet so Dumbo the Flying Elephant could be relocated during the New Fantasyland expansion.

   Reopened after a roughly four-month closure during which the track was rerouted and shortened to clear space for the under-construction TRON Lightcycle / Run.

Disney adds and later removes Indy-themed branding and sponsorship from the attraction.

   Disney partnered with the Indianapolis Motor Speedway to add Indy-themed dressing, including a Yard of Bricks, a scoring pylon, Gasoline Alley signage and the wheel-and-wing logo.

   Indianapolis Motor Speedway sponsorship ended and 'Indy' was dropped from the name, giving the attraction its present name, Tomorrowland Speedway.
