Sources disagree on the framing and the day: Inside the Magic reported the closure came "with no advance warning," while Orlando ParkStop describes advance word of the exhibit's fate and the Hello Kitty announcement predated the closure by ten weeks. Most sources give August 17, 2015; TouringPlans lists August 16, 2015 as the final day of operation.

Lucy: A Tribute opened as a walk-through museum in the Hollywood area of Universal Studios Florida, in a building that had housed the Silver Screen Collectibles shop since the park opened.

Frequently but incorrectly called an opening-day attraction; the park opened June 7, 1990 and the building held Silver Screen Collectibles for its first two years. No day-level date is documented, only May 1992.
