Universal stripped the amphitheater of its circus theming and opened Xtreme Xventure there on July 2, 2000, a BMX and extreme-sports stunt show that operated only during peak seasons in 2000 and 2001.

Wikipedia's former-attractions list names Xtreme Xventure as the direct replacement and gives its span as peak seasons 2000 to 2001; Ultimate Rollercoaster's July 6, 2000 news item supplies the July 2 debut date. Storybook Amusement is explicit that the amphitheater never received a full-time replacement, so the successor was a seasonal tenant rather than a like-for-like production.

February 29, 2000 appears on the Wikipedia former-attractions list and in the Islands of Adventure article, and independently in Storybook Amusement's researched history, which attributes the cancellation to weak attendance and states the show was not planned to be temporary. A February 9, 2000 final-performance date circulating on a character fan wiki is uncorroborated and is not carried here.

Pandemonium Cartoon Circus premiered on Islands of Adventure's official opening day as a live circus stage show in the 2,000-seat open-air Toon Lagoon Amphitheater, built around the land's cartoon and comic-strip characters including Rocky, Bullwinkle, Popeye, Woody Woodpecker and Betty Boop.

Wikipedia's former-attractions list records that the show opened with the park in 1999; Storybook Amusement states the May 28 premiere outright and documents that the show did not run during the park's spring 1999 preview days, because the amphitheater was closed while the cast rehearsed at Universal Studios Florida. The 2,000-seat figure is given independently by Yesterland and Storybook Amusement. Media of the period also called the venue the Pandemonium Amphitheater.
