Wikipedia's infobox gives January 1, 2007; Yesterland writes that the doors were locked on New Year's Day 2007. The dome served as EPCOT's Festival Center from 2007 to 2018, and the Play! Pavilion proposed for the site in 2019 was abandoned, so no successor attraction ever opened in the building.

Disney cut the Wonders of Life pavilion back to seasonal operation, opening it only when the park was projected to approach capacity in the spring and Christmas seasons, so Frontiers of Medicine was reachable only on those days.

October 19, 1989 is the pavilion's opening date; no source dates this attraction's own debut separately, though both Wikipedia and Yesterland list it among the pavilion's attractions. The archived portfolio of its writer/producer/director, Justin Segal, describes a 60-minute attraction covering topics from AIDS to Alzheimer's to paralysis to genetic engineering, videodisc monitors ringed by sequenced light boxes, a centerpiece of life-size bas-relief figures whose skeleton, musculature, organs, circulatory and nervous systems lit in sequence, and content 'updated periodically' - though no source dates any individual update.
