Universal announced on May 7, 2026 that Thunder Falls Terrace will permanently close in summer 2026 to be rebuilt as Islands of Adventure's new signature restaurant debuting in 2027.

The full indoor dining room reopened in February 2023 after a roof refurbishment, with the black curtains that had walled off half the seating since Hurricane Ian roof damage finally removed.

Thunder Falls Terrace opened with the Jurassic Park area on Universal's Islands of Adventure inaugural day, serving rotisserie chicken and chargrilled mango-BBQ ribs from a riverside spot overlooking the Jurassic Park River Adventure drop.
