House of Good Fortune reopened in mid-August 2020 after the COVID-19 shutdown, returning with plexiglass register barriers and social-distancing markers.

The shop's predecessor, the Chinese department store Yong Feng Shangdian, opened in EPCOT's China pavilion about six months after the park debuted on October 1, 1982.
