The Production Studio Tour opened with Universal Studios Florida as a roughly 15-minute tram tour into and around the park's soundstages and the wider park.

The former-attractions list places the tour under the Production Central heading, gives an opening date of June 7, 1990, and describes a "15-minute journey into and around various sound stages as well as being taken on a general tour around the park." The park article calls it "a backlot tour tram ride attraction... with elements that were similar to the version at Universal Studios Hollywood."
