Debuted as the 20th Anniversary Surprise Celebration Parade, premiering the morning of October 1, 1991 immediately after Magic Kingdom's rededication ceremony led by Michael Eisner and Roy E. Disney.
Each performance opened with a daily 'surprise' Grand Marshal: a guest family chosen to ride at the front of the parade on the jester-hatted Roger Rabbit float that led the procession.
Themed to Mardi Gras, Carnivale and Venetian Carnival; featured six cold-air balloons 35-40 ft tall (repurposed from Disneyland's Party Gras / 35th anniversary), floats reaching 55-65 ft, 100+ musicians and dancers, and Walt Disney World's first stilt walkers.
