After the adjacent Legend of the Lion King show closed, the shop was remodeled to match the theme of Mickey's PhilharMagic and became that attraction's exit gift shop when PhilharMagic opened in October 2003.

Fantasy Faire opened as a Fantasyland shop, taking over the space of the former Mad Hatter store near the Fantasyland Theater and initially selling Lion King merchandise.
