The hands-on gem-sorting/jewel-washing station in the queue was retired and replaced with an overlay of static, immovable gems, removing one of the queue's original touch-based games.
Embers from the Magic Kingdom fireworks ignited the faux grass atop the coaster's mine bridge, prompting an evacuation and brief closure; Reedy Creek crews contained it within minutes with no injuries or structural damage, and the ride reopened the same night.
Seven Dwarfs Mine Train opened as the headline E-ticket of the New Fantasyland expansion, a steel coaster with first-of-its-kind swaying/tilting mine-car vehicles, an interactive queue, and an Audio-Animatronic finale of the dwarfs in their cottage.
