The Scuttle Audio-Animatronic and his interactive in-queue show returned after a lengthy absence, restoring the queue bit where guests help Scuttle and the crabs sort human 'thingamabobs.'
Reopened from a month-long refurbishment with the centerpiece 'Under the Sea' scene re-lit using blacklight, numerous new static fish figures added along the previously sparse rockwork, and Ariel's and Eric's sculpted hair remade with softer, more realistic material in the on-land scenes.
Under the Sea - Journey of The Little Mermaid opened in Fantasyland as the anchor dark ride of the New Fantasyland expansion, using a clamshell Omnimover system to retell the 1989 film inside a replica of Prince Eric's castle.
