An exterior facade refurbishment began behind scrim and scaffolding (ride stayed open); by mid-2026, as the scrim came down, the central cupola was revealed refinished in a darker, shinier metallic tone instead of the former beige stone color.

The Haunted Mansion opened with Magic Kingdom on opening day in Liberty Square — a Doom Buggy (Omnimover) dark ride and the second Haunted Mansion after Disneyland's 1969 original, housed in a Dutch Gothic-style Hudson River Valley manor.
