The theater reopened the next day as the ABC Sound Studio with the One Saturday Morning Sound Show, in which seven volunteers, usually children, scored an episode of 101 Dalmatians: The Series in place of the Chase and Short film.

The One Saturday Morning Sound Show ran until February 20, 1999.

Wikipedia's attraction list gives the run as May 1, 1989 to June 30, 1997, and Yesterland dates the successor to July 1997. Walt Dated World instead treats the theater's sound shows as a single attraction that changed formats on July 1, 1997 and closed on February 20, 1999, and Wikipedia's Sounds Dangerous! entry similarly names its previous attraction as "Monster Sound Show/One Saturday Morning Sound Show".

The Monster Sound Show opened with the Disney-MGM Studios on May 1, 1989, presented by Sony, with four audience volunteers adding live Foley sound effects to a short comedy film starring Chevy Chase and Martin Short.

Played in the 270-seat theater in Soundstage 11 at Echo Lake, known as the Monster Sound Studio until 1997, the ABC Sound Studio from 1997 to 2012, and the Mickey Shorts Theater since 2020.
