Construction permits filed for The Magic of Disney Animation at 190 & 200 Showbiz Blvd; summer opening targeted.
Announced to return to Disney's Hollywood Studios after 11 years — a new animation pavilion, modeled on the Roy E. Disney Animation Building and inspired by the Emmy Award-winning short 'Once Upon a Studio', housing Once Upon a Studio Theater, Olaf Draws!, Off the Page!, Drawn to Wonderland, and an Enchanted Art Gallery. It takes over the former Star Wars: Launch Bay space, targeting a late-summer 2026 opening.
The original The Magic of Disney Animation — a walk-through attraction and working animation studio that had operated since the park opened — closed permanently. The space was redeveloped into Star Wars: Launch Bay, which opened that December.
Opened as an original attraction of Disney-MGM Studios — a walk-through tour of a working Disney animation studio where guests could watch artists at work, hosted on film by Robin Williams and Walter Cronkite.
