Disney announced that Star Wars Weekends would not return, retiring the motorcade, with work on the park's Star Wars Land expansion due to begin in 2016 and year-round Star Wars offerings including Star Wars Launch Bay and Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple arriving that December.
The motorcade ran for the last time on the closing day of the final Star Wars Weekends, which ran May 15 through June 14, 2015.
