Sources disagree on the exact final day: the April 20, 1995 Orlando Sentinel report said Barbie would leave on May 11, while a fan recording is titled as the complete show on the final day of performances, May 13, 1995 - so only 1995-05 is safely corroborated and the day is left unstated. LaughingPlace, Extinct Disney and WDW Magazine all give May 1995. No single successor attraction took over the building: the Sentinel says the venue's next bill was the rotating "Rhythms of the World," and America Gardens Theatre remains an active rotating venue, so this is a closure rather than a reskin.

The Orlando Sentinel reported that the show would leave Epcot the following month, with Disney publicist Pam Brandon saying, "Epcot is moving in a new direction. It's just one of those things."

The Sentinel blocked direct fetching; the article was read through a text proxy, and its date is taken from the paper's own dated archive URL (1995/04/20), not from a dateline in the body. It gives the closing date as May 11, 1995 and says a rotating "Rhythms of the World" bill of international performers would debut a few days later. Attractions Magazine independently carries the Brandon quote.

Walt Dated World is the only source located that reports the pull-and-rewrite: the first version "closed for rewrites the next day" and the revised version reopened in time for Christmas 1993. No contemporaneous press corroboration was found, and no source describes what was changed.

The Magical World of Barbie, a Mattel-backed live musical, premiered at Epcot's America Gardens Theatre in World Showcase during the Thanksgiving season of 1993, with live performers playing Barbie, Ken, Skipper, Midge and Stacie on a song-and-dance trip that took in an Australian koala rescue, an African safari and a Paris fashion show.

Walt Dated World ("Thanksgiving season of 1993"), Extinct Disney ("1993 holiday season"), Attractions Magazine ("late 1993") and WDW Magazine ("ran from 1993 to 1995") all place the premiere in 1993; LaughingPlace says 1994, so the majority is followed rather than averaged. The scene list is Walt Dated World's, which describes stops in "Australia, where Barbie had to stop 'Wombat Dundee' from capturing a koala," "a safari in Africa run by a guide scared of monkeys" and "a fashion show in Paris." Runtime is disputed - Walt Dated World and Extinct Disney both say 20 minutes while Attractions Magazine calls it a half-hour show - so no runtime is asserted here. WDW Magazine says Mattel built the production around Barbie's 35th anniversary. Elizabeth Simmons, then recently named Miss Oregon, played Barbie.

America Gardens Theatre, until then an open-air stage with bench seating, was rebuilt for the production, gaining a covered stage, a scenic shell in the pavilion's colonial style, upgraded lighting and sound, and backstage space for storing sets and props.

Neither source names a construction year - the Magic Kingdom Memories piece says only that the show ran "from Thanksgiving 1993 until 1995" - so the year here is placed at the production the work was done for rather than independently dated. That piece describes the theatre beforehand as "simply an open-air stage with benches for audiences" and credits the rebuild with a shell "in the same colonial architectural style as the rest of the pavilion," "state of the art lighting and sound" and backstage areas "allowing for the storage of sets and props"; Walt Dated World says the amphitheatre "was remodeled for this show and received a covered stage and viewing area," and LaughingPlace says "it was this show that gave the amphitheater its current covered stage and viewing area." Both outlets are enthusiast/secondary; no contemporaneous construction record was located.
