Epcot Forever ended its original run on September 28, 2021, handing World Showcase Lagoon to Harmonious, which soft-opened the following night and officially debuted on October 1, 2021 for the start of Walt Disney World's 50th anniversary.

The show went dark on March 16, 2020 when Walt Disney World closed for the COVID-19 pandemic and did not play again until fireworks resumed across the resort in the summer of 2021.

Sources disagree on the return night: Wikipedia lists June 29, 2021, while Spectrum News 13, writing on July 2, 2021, reported that "as of July 1" the resort had resumed nightly presentations of Happily Ever After at Magic Kingdom and Epcot Forever at EPCOT. Dated here to the July 1 public return the news account states directly.
