The former Groove space reopened as Universal's Great Movie Escape, Universal Orlando's first escape-room experience, themed to Jurassic World and Back to the Future.
Construction walls went up around the shuttered Groove at Universal CityWalk as the building was prepped for its conversion.
Orlando Entertainment News reported that Universal CityWalk would not reopen The Groove (or the Red Coconut Club), confirming the nightclub's permanent closure; the venue was already being dismantled internally, with the stage split apart and subwoofers and lighting removed.
