Voodoo Doughnut celebrated its grand opening at Universal CityWalk on May 1, 2018 as its first East Coast location, with co-founders Kenneth Pogson and Tres Shannon introducing the Baron mascot and a menu of more than 50 doughnuts including the Bacon Maple Bar and Voodoo Doll.
Voodoo Doughnut began soft-opening service to CityWalk guests shortly before 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 24, 2018, following a team-member preview the prior day.
Universal Orlando confirmed in January 2018 that Portland-based Voodoo Doughnut would open at CityWalk that spring, becoming the brand's first location east of the Mississippi.
The Voodoo Doughnut shop was built in the CityWalk space formerly occupied by Element, a skateboarding-culture store that had closed.
