All-you-care-to-eat buffet menu service returned on November 1, 2022, replacing the family-style/individually-plated format used since the restaurant's 2021 post-COVID reopening.
Character dining was extended to dinner beginning March 8, 2015, giving Tusker House Disney characters at all three meals.
Character dining expanded to a midday meal as Donald's Dining Safari Lunch on December 4, 2011.
After closing August 20, 2007 for a remodel, Tusker House reopened November 17, 2007 reconcepted as a full-service buffet character meal, with Donald's Safari Breakfast (Donald, Daisy, Goofy and Mickey) relocating from Restaurantosaurus.
Tusker House opened on April 22, 1998 as an African-themed counter-service (quick-service) restaurant in Harambe Village, Africa, on the opening day of Disney's Animal Kingdom.
