D23 2026 confirmed the land keeps the name Villains Land and revealed its story and both attractions. The villains are no longer tethered to their own tales — they hold a realm of their own deep in a foreboding forest, with Cruella de Vil and Dr. Facilier among the residents. One attraction is a coaster racing through the enchanted briars around Maleficent's mountaintop fortress; the other is a dark ride hosted by the Magic Mirror from Snow White, which pulls guests through the glass into its Mirror Realm. Disney put the land's scale at that of Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. Neither ride has been named.

At Destination D23 (2025), Disney revealed that Disney Legend and veteran animator Andreas Deja — the artist behind classic Disney villains including Jafar, Scar, and Gaston — was officially consulting on the Villains Land project.

Coming SoonAug 10, 2024across the land

Announced at D23 (Aug 10, 2024) as a new Disney Villains-themed land coming to Magic Kingdom — Phase Two of the 'Beyond Big Thunder' expansion, sited behind the former Rivers of America near the Haunted Mansion. It will feature two major attractions plus dining and shopping; Josh D'Amaro called it potentially the largest expansion in Magic Kingdom history. The attractions have not yet been named.
