Lisa's Teahouse of Horror opened as one of the counters of Fast Food Boulevard, the quick-service hub of the new Springfield U.S.A. (The Simpsons) area, which opened as the first phase of the expansion at Universal Studios Florida.
The venue opened with a lighter, vegetarian-friendly menu (Caesar, Mediterranean and Caprese salads, a veggie sandwich, turkey wrap, hummus and fruit plate) setting it apart from Fast Food Boulevard's burger and pizza stands.
Lisa's Teahouse of Horror and the rest of Fast Food Boulevard were created from the former International Food and Film Festival food court, which Universal closed in 2012 and transformed into the Springfield expansion.
