The original 1982 Cantina building was demolished and replaced by a new larger lagoon-side building shared with the new full-service La Hacienda de San Angel, dedicated in a grand opening ceremony on September 15, 2010 (public opening September 16).
The 2010 rebuild brought a refreshed menu of three main entrees ($10.50-$11.95), nachos ($9.95), guacamole with chips ($7.25), and empanadas con queso.
La Cantina de San Angel opened with EPCOT Center on opening day, October 1, 1982, as a quick-service eatery at the Mexico pavilion in World Showcase, seating 288 in 3,500 square feet.
