In February 2019 Banana Cabana debuted its own standalone food menu instead of serving items from the adjacent Sebastian's Bistro menu, adding entrees such as a Jerk Chicken Sandwich, Caribbean-Style Cheesesteak, and Chilled Seafood Salad plus pub-style appetizers.
The original Banana Cabana pool bar closed in spring 2017 (guests with arrivals around May 1 were notified) and the small poolside bar structure was later torn down as part of the resort-wide Old Port Royale reimagining that also shut Shutters and the Old Port Royale food court.
